Attention 2014 Seniors: You can satisfy all requirements for your senior year by answering "YES" to the items on this checklist.
1) I have begun my college search. (HINT: Your counselor introduced you to an internet-based program, MISSOURI CONNECTIONS. Log on using your regular GHS log on.)
2) I have made a list of colleges I am interested in.
3) I have checked on the admission requirements for the colleges in which I am interested.
4) I have checked on the application deadlines for the colleges in which I am interested.
5) I have begun to gather scholarship information:
*Register on FASTWEB or other free internet-based scholarship search;
*Regularly check the GHS website.
6) I participated in summer activities, including volunteering, internship or job shadowing experience.
7) I have prepared a working calendar to carefully track all opportunities & deadlines.
8) I know how to register for the ACT.
9) If I haven’t already taken the ACT, I will register for the first available ACT. (www.actstudent.org) in Sept/Oct.
10) I plan to make at least two college visits during my senior year. (HINT: Research available visit dates & contact the college admissions office to make official arrangements.)
11) I have drafted a resume of my leadership & extracurricular activities, community service, special talents, and honors/awards.
12) If interested in participating in Division I or II college sports, I have visited the NCAA Eligibility Center website for eligibility requirements at http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.html.
13) I know how to sign up to see my counselor.
